YOUR HR DEPARTMENT
Employment Rights Bill
The Employment Rights Bill is a major update to UK employment law. It’s designed to make work fairer, safer and more secure for employees, while also helping employers understand and meet their responsibilities. It’s part of the government’s plan to “Make Work Pay.”
As the largest shake-up of employment law in decades, the employment rights bill will have greater pressures and expectations on employers than ever before.
Outsource your HR to Redway and we’ll take out the hassle and headache, translating the new employment laws into compliant and best practice people management so that your employees are treated well and your managers are confident in their responsibilities.
Working on a project-by-project or retained basis, we seamlessly fit into your organisation, bringing procedures in line with best practice smoothly and efficiently.
With your HR and the employment rights bill in safe hands, you can give your full attention to the parts of your business that need it most.
The employment rights bill - highlights

Lowering the two-year qualifying period for the right to claim unfair dismissal to a period of 6 months..

An end to ‘fire and rehire’ and ‘fire and replace’ practices
Dismissals for failure to agree to a change in contract will be automatically unfair, except where businesses genuinely have no alternative.

Improved gender equality
Relevant employers to produce action plans setting out how they are addressing the gender pay gap issues and supporting employees going through the menopause.

Repealing various acts, strengthening rights of access to unions and simplifying recognition and industrial action requirements.

Improved enforcement
Establishing the Fair Work Agency to enforce legislation from domestic agency rules and National Minimum Wage to labour exploitation. Includes powers to investigate, issue penalties and bring cases to tribunal on the behalf of workers.

Increased time for making ET claims
